Ida Nørby is a classically trained and open-minded experimental cellist. As a musician she is playful, creative and gets a lot of inspiration from collaborating with other musicians and artists in general.
In 2020 she received a Professional Studies Certificate from Manhattan School of Music, New York City and in 2019 she completed a masters degree in classical cello at The Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen.
An important part of her work is to play and perform contemporary and improvised music in different projects with the established group Damkapellet and the experimental duo Wesen. She also works with electroacoustic composition and live-processing in different contexts.
Additionally she is co-owner and musician at the company Copenhagen Strings, which is the main provider of string players for weddings and events in Denmark.
Her cello is build in 2010 by Stürzenhofecker in Cully, Switzerland.
